Remakes Overshadowing The Originals

Ninad Khand

hey guys, greetings from India,
i love the show and watch everyday. My questions is regarding remakes. Do you think the studios are focusing more on remakes than an original concept. movies like memento or Ghostbusters should be kept untouched. And because of more remake ideas coming across Studios do you think that new original ideas for movies are being suppressed.
thanks for answering my question, keep up the great work..
This message was sent out to Collider Video which is collidervideo@gmail.com and was sent to us by mistake. Since we're such good neighbors we're delivering it to you now.
You'll get people who only see a finite amount of movies per year. You want to see your favorite movies get recognition, but in today's society the truth is this business, as Michael Bay from ERB eloquently put it, "Is All About The Motherfucking Money". We vote with our dollars, since remakes have the stigma of being bad and the gift of name recognition, movie producers will roll the dice because of the evidence that people will pay to see them. This doesn't mean that the overwhelming amount of original movies that are being filmed go unnoticed, its just that a lot of them do not get as big of marketing campaigns as the ones we're going out to see.

Go Rogue: Mission Accomplished

Ethan Hunt returns with a new Impossible Mission for us to be wowed with the craziness of his stunts. Tom seems to have embraced the character as time has gone by unlike some of the other BIG Hollywood superstars like Sylvester(Rambo), Arnold(Terminator) and Bruce(Die Hard) or Mel(Lethal Weapon) who have been in decline or dead for some years. Just when you think this Mission Impossible franchise should be done and falling off.

With this new ACTION PACKED sequel this franchise may still have some punch to it with a bit of comedy blended in nicely with Simon Pegg as the comic relief along side Tom almost kind of Bruce Willis/Sam L. Jackson in Die Hard with a Vengeance had. The other or best aspect to the movie I enjoyed was Ms. Ferguson the leading lady along side Ethan. Looking into her beautiful Blues almost made me forget I was watching an action movie. She also does a nice job of not knowing what side she is really on. Classic Bond girl with the beauty and brains and can kick my ass anytime.Ving Rhames and Jeremy Renner round out the IMF team that Tom goes to battle with while Alec Baldwin is trying to catch them abring them in.

I can say I am ready for another Mission after watching this movie and just hope it doesn't take too long to see the crew back in action. Wouldn't it be something if somewhere down the line this franchise joined another franchise like maybe James Bond meets Ethan Hunt.Perfect summer popcorn movie and even better in IMAX so you can get the whole feel and scope of it.....

Through The Trailers: Sisters - Official Trailer REACTION

Today is a milestone for TTTM.

This is the first Reaction Video on the Blog and YouTube Channel. I'm excited and a little disappointed that the first one would have to be to this heap of garbage of a trailer. This trailer is no good at all. I've actually produced something that I'm proud of on the set of Talking Through The Movies but I know the Executive Producer of this film should hate the marketing campaign for this garbage.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are two of the funniest women in the business but this was so beneath them. I'm surprised its coming out. I was curious to see that WWE superstar John Cena was in this film. I'm more looking forward to what he's bringing to Trainwreck, which looks hilarious.

I can't find any more word to wast on this trialer. Here's hoping the film itself is better.

Movie News: Minions Number One In Box office

As I predicted and still couldn't imaging that much of an intake. $400 Million worldwide.

Jurassic World in second place and Disney/Pixar holding strong in third.

It takes a giant minion to knock out the attack of Prat. Don't feel bad Disney, Inside was better.

By a mile.

The Movie News: Amanda Peterson Dies at 43

Can't Buy Me Love Actress, Amanda Peterson, dies at 43.

I'm saddened to report that actress Amanda Peterson, best known for portraying the love interest of Patrick Dempsey in 1987’s Can’t Buy Me Love, died over the 4th of July weekend in her Colorado home
She was 43 years old, and has two children. She was discovered on the 5th of July just three days away from her 44th birthday. I wast first introduced to this actress in 1985 when I saw her movie Explorers. She played Lori Swenson, the love interest to a young Ethan Hawke, in this syfy cult classic. I swill watch this movie from time to time. I was then reacquainted to her in the movie Can't Buy Me Love. I've always had a hing of a crush on this beautiful actress.
The’ cause of death is unknown at this time, though Peterson’s father confirms his daughter suffered from “some illness,” along with sleep apnea.
Her last role was in a film called Windrunner in 1994. She then retired from the entertainment world.
I know I'll be watching my two favorite films

Through The Movie Trailers: Creed (video)

Creed A set of beliefs or aims that guide someone's actions.

To me this movie trailer spoke volumes. I do not need to see anything else after this. I'm one hundred percent sold on seeing this in theaters and want can't wait to see it. I'm mostly looking forward to seeing what an actor at Michael B. Jordan's level will bring to this movie. The title of this movie speaks to me. I see it at a covenant and a continuation of Rocky Balboa keeping his promise to look over his fallen friends son to keep him save after failing to keep Apollo Creed alive in the fourth film.

You have Balboa taking on the mantle of mentor and taking a new up and comer Creed, played by Jordan, who in a lot of ways looks like Carl Weathers. They both rocking the stash, Weathers thick 80's mustache, Jordan more trim look but the resemblance is there. If you told me he was really related I'd believe you.

Rocky has come a long way and after redeeming the franchise with Rocky Balboa (film) after that God awful Rocky IV (touch me and I'll sue) crap, its great that Sylvester Stallone is not taking this franchise to a new direction and focusing on the Creed family. When i first heard the synopsis and saw this trailer, I might as well had preordered my ticket. I'm definitely excited. Jordan is in the best shape of his life physically and in his career. If he doesn't have a few Oscars when he's done I'd be shocked. This movie trailer is awesome.

I'm mostly curious to what the plot will be focused on. Has the Creed family fallen on financial hardship and a son tries to fill his fathers shoes or are we looking a a privileged young man who's trying to climb out of the shadow of his father?

Either way I'm ready to see.

Lets keep talking.

Check out the video I've posted on my Youtube channel.

Talk Me Into It: Whiplash

How Do I Talk You Into Watching A Masterpiece!?

This movie is everything outstanding thing anyone has ever said about it. Mr. Fletcher played by (J.K. Simmons) takes J. J. Jamerson and introduces him to cocaine the likes no one has seen before.

The best way I can describe this briefly is; You know how you feel when you're watching an intense action or even better, a horror film. A horror movie that pulls you so far in you think you're surrounded by those trees in Crystal Lake and you hear "Chi Chi Chi Chi, Kill Kill Kill" knowing that the end is near. But the end doesn't come so quickly. That grip the movie has around your throat is only tightening and you can't escape it.

The same buttons that a horror film pushes were also pushed watching this suspenseful drama. The way J.K. pushes the limits of his abilities to crush and uplift the spirits of young Andrew Neyman (Miles Teller). If this were an M. Knight Shyamalon film the twist would have had you saying, "Better Than The Sixth Sense".

I Love Ben Affleck as Batman and You Do Too . . .

You, your brother, your next door neighbor and your grandmother hated the idea of the guy from Broke Back Mountain playing the most famous comic book villain ever to hit the big screen. Till the Dark Knight premiered then everyone felt that he was the greatest joker who ever donned the makeup.

Casting directors are there for a reason, they are seeing a bigger picture we will never be aware of till the genius is seen on screen. Batman is a billion dollar franchise, WB will not make a decision like this likely knowing they have a lot on the line if it fails. Snyder, Nolan and Warner must all be in agreement if this choice happened so quickly and just like how most people thought Heath would ripping the franchise because we didn't see the chemistry that the director/casting team saw made most if us all turn hypocrite when the movie came out.

Keep calm and reserve first judgment when the trailer drops. For those of you who doubt Affleck's ability to do a descent job I say this, The Town, Argo, & Dare Devil. The Town showed us his dark side, Argo showed us a man who can figure out how to get the job done through impossible odds (something Bruce/Bats does consistently) and Dare Devil wore a costume.

All jokes aside, I liked dare devil, it was a great movie besides that seesaw scene and the fight scenes were better than anything from the Batman movies.
Having Affleck as Batman gives the current director some breathing room. Ben is not the greatest actor ever but he's better than most and better than he was when he was just Kevin Smith pretty boy go to guy. Ben is now an Oscar winning director and by better director than Snyder. The proofs in the awards, so Snyder has the expertise and vision that his new Bat can assist with.

So lets just see what happens because the majority of you none believers, doubters, haters and hard core butt hurt fans are going to remember how wrong you were about Ledger and see it 10 times anyways. Jennifer Lopez will not be Catwoman so I think we're going to be fine my fellow Frantics.
