2036 Origins Unknown Review & Comments

I watched Collider with Kristian Harloff interviewing Katie Sackhoff talking about their time as a couple, now as friends. When I saw her on the trailer of Origin Unknown that was the first thing that hit me was, I still haven't finished that interview.

After watching the Terminator, the one thing that hits me is that old saying, "There's no fate, but what we make". I bring that up because this movie made me think about artificial intelligence and the rise of the machines.

2036 Origin Unknown/Film synopsis

Following a deadly crash on Mars, Mackenzie Wilson launches a mission find out what went wrong. But when her ship's artificial intelligence takes control, they discover a sinister object on the surface of the red planet.

This movie makes us ask that question, do we put too much faith in these machine. Think about, if we make contact with beings from outer space, unless we're dealing with immortals we're not going to meet the actual beings we're going to meet their drones or probes or satellites. They will send their machines, as we do. We always send off the remote control car before the man. so is the next step of human evolution whatever we give to our machines?

So downloading everything that is human into a sentient machine. Is that the next level. This subject is still theorized and talked about. Is AI the enemy, are they our savior's or the cause of our deaths, this movie says the answer to both questions is Yes. This is the way for humans to live forever. The only way we'll meet other beings in the universe. Destroy the planet to save the planet. The destruction of ourselves to save our saves.

I was expecting this movie to show the alien, but they never do.  This movie made me think of Contact staring Jodi Foster as well. Alien was a no show, cop out. I give it up to Arrival, at least they had the guts. Then this movie does the same thing, saying that machines and humans are the same things "What Is Alive" all this stuff comes from the same universe. We're always putting ourselves inside of and merging with machines.

This movie kept me so clueless, I felt like it was time jumping as if it was a simulations. . This movie came out in June and I'm just now getting around it. and I'm getting a lot of comments from people who are really split on this movie. Already over 700 views and 20 comments. I'll share them with you and let you keep the conversation going.

BTW for answers - Mac died and ARTE recreated her for the purpose of traveling to unknown origin to meet the alien species that sent the Cube. He not only re created her with android tech . He enhanced her using magnetic pulse Technology from the alien cube . It apparenty took him a long time to re create her as he tells her this. He intimates that he took the best of "human " archetypes to re create her as well . He noticed that her and many others shared his quest for knowledge etc that many others of the species lacked and he clearly used this as a guide .. Therefore in the end the enhanced human that was Mac had all the best qualities of humans without the "fragile" make up and travelled with ARTE the AI to meet those from the galaxy that sent the Hyperlingk Cube. ..A deep plot ,and well acted . The martian shots really covered the bleakness of alien landscapes

Had to find some other other opinions about this movie. I watched about 15 minutes and fell asleep. I then watched another 15 minutes and couldn’t take it anymore. Very dull movie. 😴

I love Katie Sackhoff. She is aging well but this movie was not good. I felt like the movie was originally twice as long, but half of it was left out. I could not really follow what was happening. It was trying to be 2001, but it just did not work out. When it was over, I was thinking, "WTF did I just watch?"

The movie was great!!! It was too deep for you. Like a 2001 space odyssey movie It will become well liked over time and more popular as well.

#BreakingBad movie in the works from creator Vince Gilligan. The film "tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom." Production on the new film is set to begin this month.

Could this be Jessie, played by Aaron Paul? The only thing that stands out to me as far as a kidnapping is the Jessie character (spoiler alert) who had to be rescued by Mr. White in the finale. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me. If I were a betting man that’s where I would have the focal on. Does this mean that Walter White made it through? Will he be arrested, his life turned upside down and become an informant to the FBI?

There is tons of excitement on social media and Breaking Bad is trending.

Black Lightning uses the phrase House Nigger in Premiere for Season 2

The most shocking thing in the premiere of the show Black Lightning was the willingness to set another new tone, far above the ones set by the tails end of the first season. This all comes from yet another all to real for television moment set up by the legendary actor Robert Townsend. Playing an old friend and lawyer, Napier Frank. In a discussion regarding how to act and present yourself to the school board, Jefferson makes a comment about black men sitting comfortably mocking hard working blacks out in the field. Frank responds, rapidly. I first assumed he would say "Are you calling me a house negro?" the more PC version of the title. No. It was time to draw a new line in the sand. Using the word nigger right out their took the show to a new level that many would not have expected.

A few would say it was not necessary. That would make it very necessary. So many shows are afraid. The only other one on the CW that I would kind of sort of expect it to happen, maybe, would be Arrow. The funniest thing about the moment, for me (as a black man), is that the second it was said I literally stated out loud "Well I'm guessing this means Supergirl won't be guest appearing on Black Lightning anytime soon. Realistically, the only thing I can see happening first a visit from Jimmy Olsen to have another one of those "Sometimes they'll only see me as a threat" episodes. This may clear the way for a possible Supergirl cameo but in reality, even seeing a black version of Jimmy would still feel out of place.

Maybe Sisco? His dark past and delivery can easily be made to fit into place with the tone of Blacklightling. Sisco and Jennifer would be a very comical pairing. Then again,
no.

The only thing now that makes sense is a cameo by David Ramsey as John Diggle. After the gauntlet has been drawn, this would be a winning cameo that can bring Black Lighting into the team. To me, its the only logical anchor to the rest of the shows. Wild Dog and Mr. Terrific could also make a splash. Just my two cents.

While we're attempting to juggle our dual excitement for the upcoming Fox TV series reboot Lethal Weapon and Shane Black's new movie The Nice Guys, a simple statement on behalf of Black regarding Lethal Weapon 5 is making us drop everything.

Shane Black, the writer and director of Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,and Monster Squad, also happens to be the man responsible for the Lethal Weapon franchise. After writing the screenplay for the originalLethal Weapon in 1987, the sequels took off and the entire franchise achieved tremendous success.

Although there hasn't been another sequel since Lethal Weapon 4 in 1998, the franchise is anything but forgotten. In our era of reboots, Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh will live on in Fox's new TV showLethal Weapon, which will air in fall 2016 on Wednesdays at 10pm EST.

Lethal Weapon's fans were busy debating whether or not they were dying with excitement over the idea of a revival or dying with horror at the thought of re-casting Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Either way, no one was even thinking about a Lethal Weapon 5 starring the original cast — that is, until Black started talking.

Fans were devastated in 2009 when news broke there would be no more sequels due to Mel Gibson's lack of interest. However, in podcast 272 of the Nerdist's The Writer's Room With Ben Blacker, Shane Black reveals he harbors no hard feelings against Gibson, who was going through some personal drama at the time:

"Mel Gibson didn’t know if he wanted to do ['Lethal Weapon 5'] or not. There was negotiations and some things were happening with Mel. I don’t believe anybody should be held accountable for anything they say while drunk. If you say it sober, that’s one thing, but if you’re drunk, I mean, I would say the most heinous things to you."

Shane Black originally met up with Nerdist to promote his latest movieThe Nice Guys, featuring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. It didn't take long for the conversation to switch gears and focus on his history with the Lethal Weapon franchise. That's when Black finally revealed his idea for the plot of Lethal Weapon 5, which he had written back when there was still a possibility for yet another sequel.

"I wrote a 62-page treatment with my friend Chuck for 'Lethal Weapon 5' that would’ve been, I think, a very good movie. It was interesting. It was essentially an older Riggs and Murtagh in New York City during the worst blizzard in east coast history, fighting a team of expert Blackwater guys from Afghanistan, that’s smuggling antiquities. And we had a young character that actually counter-pointed them."

It shouldn't come to any shock that the Christmas-obsessed Black chose a blizzard as part of his setting. However, the director also pointed out he wouldn't have given in to an expected and standard passing of the torch of Lethal Weapon's main cast, as most franchises tend to do:

"But I didn’t wanna do what people do when they’re trying to transition which is, they sorta put the two older guys in the movie, but really it’s about their son! And he’s gonna take over and we’re gonna do a spinoff. Fuck that: If they’re gonna be in the movie, they’re gonna be in the movie — I don’t care how old they are."

Mel Gibson, 60, and Danny Glover, 69, may have grown a few white hairs since the last sequel, but there's no doubt they could do it if they chose to. In fact, the difference in age would make for an interesting spin to the usual "I'm too old for this shit!" Unfortunately, the revelation of this sequel in no way indicates that it could ever come to life.

We might as well focus on what we do have on the moment, which is the recently released The Nice Guys. Get ready to be psyched:
