Cloak and Dagger: Would a visit from Squirl Girl be good?

Watching Cloak and Dagger was interesting to say the least. I didn't feel like I was watching a network syndicated television show I felt like I was watching something streaming on Netflix or Hulu. Not because of the language more of the tone. Not what I expected after seeing Agents of Shield. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing any of the agents show up in this show as long as they match the tone that this to show has set. there's no need for the comic relief to try to match what Agents of Shield has said if they do then the world suggest they separate. I could see one of the agents dropping by and giving a little support maybe when one or both of the characters are in danger. No need to see a jet fly away and vanish. there's also no need to acknowledge the movies, the incident, but if they wanted to acknowledge some of the things that's been going on on the Netflix show such as Daredevil I would not be opposed.

The character development the majority of the time was good. It makes you long to see what will happen when they do fight side-by-side. I'm curious on how it will look, how they will train. I'm also wondering will they become a love interest for each other. Maybe they will briefly or maybe they'll go the brother-sister route I will be okay either way. But one has the potential to be a disaster for the writing. Other than that I guess I'm worried about a possible villain of the week cenario versus getting bored with whether or not they'll exercise their personal demons having it dragged out for too long.

What I would love to see Is other Marvel characters making an appearance. I don't know why but I feel like Squirrel Girl could bring some crazy comic relief and a dark tone that would knock the socks off of some viewers. In recent videos I've said that squirrel girl could be the one character that could jump from movies to TV show but I'm more confident now than ever that marble will never do that. Cloak and Dagger is a great show so far with room to soar even higher. let's hope they stay grounded and consistent. Let's hope the writing enhances this tone and takes us to places never considered. From the black lives matter to all lives matter, what do you take a knee or stand for Liberty. There's something here for everybody. this is the kind of show that reflects a lot of what real America is about. Not crazy costume heroes and villains jumping all over the city but the idea that a young black man can come from a quiet suburb and a attractive white female can be a con artist and a thief because she's falling from a  privileged Life Style.

I'm looking forward to seeing more, if you are a consumer of Cloak and Dagger comment and let me know what you hope to see in the future. Till next time.

Updated: A few characters that would be perfect to make a visit in this show. Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Squirl Girl, Aunt May, Ghost Rider, and Mack from Agents of Shield

First Look At Dumbo Movie Has Taken Flight

Prepare yourself consumers, this is Christopher Fagan with T3 media's and I am a little more excited about Dumbo that's set to come out in 2019 directed by Tim Burton. I just saw the trailer today and gave a bit of a reaction to it. I did this on YouTube first and wanted to save the full details of how the movie looks thus far based on the teaser alone for the site with you all today. I remember watching Dumbo as a little kid it wasn't a movie that was in the VHS or DVD collection at my house it was a movie that came on the Disney Channel every now and then you would watch it when it was on. The story about Dumbo is classic one of the other times I saw Dumbo was in The Who Framed Rodger rabbit movie. This is a lovable character with a heartbreaking story. The love that this animal has in his heart that gets constantly broken repeatedly from the very beginning of the movie is something that can melt the heart of the toughest individual. The scene where, spoiler alert,  Dumbo's mother seized Dumbo being mistreated and goes on a rampage to stop it just to have her self labeled as a mad elephant and taken away from him forever, this is something that any mother, any parent could relate to. You will not harm my child everyone understands this.
Another thing that stands out is the fact that Tim Burton is directing. I've always admired his work on the two films he did Batman and Batman Returns. Edward Scissorhands that he was hired to bring them both to life. A lot of people doubt it Burton's ability but I kept thinking about that crazy dream sequence from the original cartoon. Think about how warped and weird and spooky that whole thing was when gumbo was not in his right mind. You need someone Justice spooky and creepy to really bring that together. Now that this teaser has given us a little taste of what to expect I'm even more excited to see that sequence play itself out. The time that I was watching this trailer I kept thinking to myself “Burton I'm going to do it you're not going to tug at my heartstrings”. but seeing Dumbo rise from that Haystak he did just that.

This movie has a lot of room to be a disaster, I mean look at how Alice in Wonderland was really handled. I never thought Disney would put another franchise in Burton's hands after that but you can't argue with the results. The first one made a killing. It made enough money to justify the flop. Let's call it a mulligan and let's see what he can give us. and now it's like he's getting the band back together. Let's erase the mistakes from the past and go forward by getting some of the things that worked further in the past Beyond Alice in Wonderland. Let's get Michael Keaton. Danny DeVito. Colin Farrell. Those three names alone should Inspire confidence.

After everything that Tim Burton has given us, classic films, I'm Evermore excited that this movie will be executed properly. I could be wrong but I doubt it. Let's hope that it's heartwarming and pushes the envelopes of what we were able to do visually in the weird and wacky Hollywood sphere. with a mind like Tim Burton, I'm pretty sure it won't disappoint. But if it does it doesn't take away from what Dumbo really is at heart. I like what I see so far and I can't wait to see more

Till next time consumers

Is Hotel Artemis A Cult Classic, A Franchise Or Neither

Let's check into the Hotel Artemis. I just saw this movie it stars Jodie Foster, Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella and Sterling K. Brown just to name a few. It was asked on Silver Screen Analysis "Does An Ensemble Cast Equal Success?" To answer the question, I would say, it probably use to. Now a days with so many movies coming out and people being more careful with what they spend money on, the risk are higher than ever to make a profit on anything. So lets roll the dice. Brown plays, Waikiki, professional criminal who has problems in his personal life. he's always being held back by his little brother played by Brian Terry Henry and they get themselves into a little bit of trouble when they rob a bank. Now all around them in the city from the begin of the film, the tone is setting that there are riots in the streets. Citizens are angry at the rich and all hell is breaking lose. Logic tells Waikiki to use the chaos to make money. A smart plan that goes horribly wrong faster than it starts. The year is 2028 there is also a water shortage. Tone set.

What do you do when all hell breaks lose, you're a wanted criminal and now you need medical attention? Who you gonna call? Jodie Foster! Hotel Artem it's a place where criminals can go to get patched up no questions asked, no cops, don't break the rules, pay your membership and things will go smooth for you kind of place. Jodie Foster plays Jean Thomas, referred to as the nurse by Dave Batista aka Everest. Throughout the film you can see their is obviously a mothering/mentor ship between these two characters. But I always wondered if maybe Batista's character ever became attracted to her or fell in love with her at one point. She did get him off the streets and they seem to be cooped up in this situation locking out most contact with the outside world. Hard to believe the thought never crossed his mind. The movie does not dive into this but my mind wondered.

Charlie Acapulco, the arms dealer an asshole. Of course he is mostly the comic relief that pretty much moves things along from one a two point tragedy. He's a bit much from the get go. Not backing down from anyone even though he knows he's out manned and muscled in every situation. The guts he emitted made his character interesting, nothing else.   Then we have the character that let's say is about 65% of the reason why I really wanted to watch this movie. Sofia Boutella. She playce a character named Nice. Everyone who is a guest in the hotel Artemis is assigned a room each room is named after beautiful places around the world like Nice, Acapulco, Waikiki, etc.

We later learn that Nice and Waikiki have a little bit of a pass.  Obviously there was a love connection there but it didn't work out because she believes he's held back from his full potential just because he's always  looking out for his little brother.

every bit of this story was was a good adventure it was a nice time and I enjoyed it a lot. I found myself rooting for these these anti-heroes, these bad guys and just trying to figure out how they were going to get out of this bad situation. Jeff Goldblum brought his A Game the way only Jeff Goldblum can. it felt like watching his character from the Fly if the fly became a kingpin of criminals.

Overall this is a great movie you'll enjoy it. 95% of the reason why I really wanted to see it was because sofia boutella and she does not disappoint. either every. It was it was almost like watching her character from Kingsman before she lost her leg.

Will there or should there be a sequel? I hope so I think this movie deserves it.  if not it's a good standalone but out of that let me know what you guys think? Until next time Consumers, Peace.

Are Comedy Spoofs trying to hard to box with Gods?

You know as well as I do that over the years lately that comedy spoof movies have not lived up to the hype as such greats of the past. I'm gonna make this real quick I want to talk about some great movies now let's go over the list of some great comedy spoof movies over the past.

We have the 1980s classic Airplane, the quintessential spoof movie you have, 2000s Scary Movie, you have Spaceballs, Hot Shots, Young Frankenstein, there's Robin Hood men in Tights, Austin Powers that's a spoof of the James Bond movies and Blazing Saddles this goes on and on and on and on the Naked Gun even in recent years you have a Hot Fuzz and Walk Hard.

Now those I'm going to put in the category even though as of late you know that they weren't really all that great. Black Dynamite that's also another good one now oh oh oh the Galaxy Quest perfect one is well that was a great spoof movie of Star Wars more Star Trek fandom. Over the years you've seen other attempts, now to me, I feel like as far as a franchise scale movie I think that  ever since the Wayans brothers left that franchise (Scary Movie) that's what started the downward spiral of Spoofs.

Listed as the worst spoof movies so you got off the bat number one as Meet the Spartans,m you have the Disaster Movie, Epic movie, Vampires Suck, Dance Flick with Damon Wayans Jr is in that one. Scary movie 3 deserves it and these are the order, scary movie four, scary movie 5 yes that's right. Date Movie, they decided to get desperate after a while. Haunted House, Superhero movie.

I want you to remember that one because that's gonna go into a point when I'm about to make.

The movies weren't all great back then but the majority are very good than bad. Here is my theory on why a lot of these spoof movies have been terrible as of late. Now listen to or let the movies of the classic movies from the past were aware versus what they are today. When you go back to the best movie list you have movies like Robin Hood men in tights obviously making fun of like Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Things like that I know Robin Hood had to look at the budget.

Robin Hood Men in Tights budget was around 20 million dollar. 20 million dollars to make that more now Robin Hood Prince of Thieves 48 million dollar budget. The Adventures of Robin Hood two million. So Robin Hood Prince of Thieves 48 million dollars and its spoof was 20 meaning half the budget pretty much give or take marketing. now you have a movie like Superhero movie budget, 35 million dollars now what movies were there making fun of? x-men that's what stands out the most. You all probably know where I'm going with this, 35 million dollars for that piece of trash and the X-men movie budget was seventy five million dollar I didn't know that 75 million dollars to make x-men WOW.  Then to make x-men x2 budget went up to 110, x-men 3 I didn't know that these movies were less than 200 million dollars back then I hate that net that tells me a lot right there x-men 3. You got a movie that budget was over a hundred million dollars and look at the special effects that they were able to pull off in the year 2000.  we go back to superhero movie came out in 2008 by 2008 Iron Man was coming out Iron Man 140 million dollars. two hundred million dollars we were already getting into that let's put some real money into this stuff territory. at 140 million dollars. Superhero movie was 35 million dollars and the problem is they're trying to stretch out and make fun of more expensive movies.

Look at the budget, you're not going to spend as much money on a spoof movie you'd be stupid to do so but look what they're aiming at back in the day. That airplane wherever they were spoofing and then Robin Hood whatever they were spoofing the budgets were closer. the scenery, the paying of the actors and getting the special effects or the practical effects out of the way you weren't really going above and beyond you could pull it off and it doesn't have to be 100%. Look at Spaceballs, they were able to do it they in a time where they could use almost the same amount of money to pull off similar special effects to make the movie not of course it's still a spoof movie.

Spoofing a movie with a 200 million dollars plus budget like a James Cameron special effects film. To make that movie look so good was going to be just on point, any spoof of that you're probably going to be using what five to ten million dollars to get the makeup and all that stuff, pay your actors and then what you're only going to be making fun of them or whether in a couple of scenes it's going to look like crap so if you're not depending on good writing or good comedy and everything then you're special effects is suffering. You're not gonna come anywhere near that budget this is my theory and why comedy spoof movies are failing; they're aiming for targets that has already moved too far ahead in effects and budget.

A Blumhouse film keeps a low budget you strike the target or come closer to the target than you were trying to make fun of an Avatar or an Iron Man or an adventures superhero movie like that did. Its like what CM Punk said to the Rock,  "your arms are just too short to box with God".

why are you attempting this kind of a fight? the target has moved too far ahead, it's too far down the road, it's too high above you why try spoofing movies not in the same playing field anymore at least back in the eighties in the nineties budget-wise they were close.

so let's look up the budget for Spaceballs, twenty two point seven million dollars. let's look up Empire Strikes Back because that was probably on the same time right there and Jedi. no way there can't be, the budget for Empire Strikes Back with 18 million dollars it costs more money to make Spaceballs.

I'm sorry I'm doing that wrong yes I guess that's like a 6 million little difference right there oh my goodness so evening when you combined Empire and Jedi you see where I'm going with this. it's still what one movie was still kind of in striking distance financially.

So that's my opinion on why these spoof movies have suffered. what do you think? am i way off base? Am I totally forgetting about the editing, the lighting, the producers, the directors the actors. Will there ever be a day when these spoof movies will ever come back again? let me know what you guys think hit the comments, put it in the box, hit the like button. thanks for taking the time to listen to me rant about this I want to know what you guys think about this as well.

until next time

Bad Times at the El Royale Trailer REACTION

My reaction to the Bad Times at the El Royale Trailer was that the cast seemed to be top notch. From the moment I saw Jeff Bridges and Jon Hamm I was hooked. I then was shocked at the first gun shot that came about. The two way mirrors were very spooky. Who's They, is what Jeff Bridges character said when it came to who is telling the hotel owner to watch guest.

A very psychedelic movie indeed. I don't know who would probably survive this movie, but when Jeff Bridges said "I'm not really a priest" my reaction was "No Shit", I figured that out just like the girl holding the gun to him did at the same time.

Did Hemsworth learn that little dance on the set of Thor? This was some dark, dark magic of a trailer. I'm at a loss for words but I'm going to see this move, this is the type of stuff I need to watch on the advance level. It looks amazing. The cast looks like they'll bring a lot of energy. I don't need to see a second or third trailer. I think it was punched hard on exactly what this movie is about and expect it to get ever more bad. From bad to worse regularly till the credits roll. Whoever survives, gets to live with everything experienced in this fucked up film. Till we can all sit down and see exactly who done it or who all is involved we can only speculate.

Thank you for reading and watching my reaction. Till the Review.

Peace

UPDATED:

So i went to see Hotel Artemis and this trailer played before the film. The atmosphere for this was perfect. You can sense that something big is about to twist off. For the first time i heard the answer to the question, "Who told you to watch the tenants". He says "management".

Who the hell is management?

Okay consumers, I'm not sure this will be a blockbuster but it looks like an instant cult classic to me.
