Are Comedy Spoofs trying to hard to box with Gods?

You know as well as I do that over the years lately that comedy spoof movies have not lived up to the hype as such greats of the past. I'm gonna make this real quick I want to talk about some great movies now let's go over the list of some great comedy spoof movies over the past.

We have the 1980s classic Airplane, the quintessential spoof movie you have, 2000s Scary Movie, you have Spaceballs, Hot Shots, Young Frankenstein, there's Robin Hood men in Tights, Austin Powers that's a spoof of the James Bond movies and Blazing Saddles this goes on and on and on and on the Naked Gun even in recent years you have a Hot Fuzz and Walk Hard.

Now those I'm going to put in the category even though as of late you know that they weren't really all that great. Black Dynamite that's also another good one now oh oh oh the Galaxy Quest perfect one is well that was a great spoof movie of Star Wars more Star Trek fandom. Over the years you've seen other attempts, now to me, I feel like as far as a franchise scale movie I think that  ever since the Wayans brothers left that franchise (Scary Movie) that's what started the downward spiral of Spoofs.

Listed as the worst spoof movies so you got off the bat number one as Meet the Spartans,m you have the Disaster Movie, Epic movie, Vampires Suck, Dance Flick with Damon Wayans Jr is in that one. Scary movie 3 deserves it and these are the order, scary movie four, scary movie 5 yes that's right. Date Movie, they decided to get desperate after a while. Haunted House, Superhero movie.

I want you to remember that one because that's gonna go into a point when I'm about to make.

The movies weren't all great back then but the majority are very good than bad. Here is my theory on why a lot of these spoof movies have been terrible as of late. Now listen to or let the movies of the classic movies from the past were aware versus what they are today. When you go back to the best movie list you have movies like Robin Hood men in tights obviously making fun of like Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Things like that I know Robin Hood had to look at the budget.

Robin Hood Men in Tights budget was around 20 million dollar. 20 million dollars to make that more now Robin Hood Prince of Thieves 48 million dollar budget. The Adventures of Robin Hood two million. So Robin Hood Prince of Thieves 48 million dollars and its spoof was 20 meaning half the budget pretty much give or take marketing. now you have a movie like Superhero movie budget, 35 million dollars now what movies were there making fun of? x-men that's what stands out the most. You all probably know where I'm going with this, 35 million dollars for that piece of trash and the X-men movie budget was seventy five million dollar I didn't know that 75 million dollars to make x-men WOW.  Then to make x-men x2 budget went up to 110, x-men 3 I didn't know that these movies were less than 200 million dollars back then I hate that net that tells me a lot right there x-men 3. You got a movie that budget was over a hundred million dollars and look at the special effects that they were able to pull off in the year 2000.  we go back to superhero movie came out in 2008 by 2008 Iron Man was coming out Iron Man 140 million dollars. two hundred million dollars we were already getting into that let's put some real money into this stuff territory. at 140 million dollars. Superhero movie was 35 million dollars and the problem is they're trying to stretch out and make fun of more expensive movies.

Look at the budget, you're not going to spend as much money on a spoof movie you'd be stupid to do so but look what they're aiming at back in the day. That airplane wherever they were spoofing and then Robin Hood whatever they were spoofing the budgets were closer. the scenery, the paying of the actors and getting the special effects or the practical effects out of the way you weren't really going above and beyond you could pull it off and it doesn't have to be 100%. Look at Spaceballs, they were able to do it they in a time where they could use almost the same amount of money to pull off similar special effects to make the movie not of course it's still a spoof movie.

Spoofing a movie with a 200 million dollars plus budget like a James Cameron special effects film. To make that movie look so good was going to be just on point, any spoof of that you're probably going to be using what five to ten million dollars to get the makeup and all that stuff, pay your actors and then what you're only going to be making fun of them or whether in a couple of scenes it's going to look like crap so if you're not depending on good writing or good comedy and everything then you're special effects is suffering. You're not gonna come anywhere near that budget this is my theory and why comedy spoof movies are failing; they're aiming for targets that has already moved too far ahead in effects and budget.

A Blumhouse film keeps a low budget you strike the target or come closer to the target than you were trying to make fun of an Avatar or an Iron Man or an adventures superhero movie like that did. Its like what CM Punk said to the Rock,  "your arms are just too short to box with God".

why are you attempting this kind of a fight? the target has moved too far ahead, it's too far down the road, it's too high above you why try spoofing movies not in the same playing field anymore at least back in the eighties in the nineties budget-wise they were close.

so let's look up the budget for Spaceballs, twenty two point seven million dollars. let's look up Empire Strikes Back because that was probably on the same time right there and Jedi. no way there can't be, the budget for Empire Strikes Back with 18 million dollars it costs more money to make Spaceballs.

I'm sorry I'm doing that wrong yes I guess that's like a 6 million little difference right there oh my goodness so evening when you combined Empire and Jedi you see where I'm going with this. it's still what one movie was still kind of in striking distance financially.

So that's my opinion on why these spoof movies have suffered. what do you think? am i way off base? Am I totally forgetting about the editing, the lighting, the producers, the directors the actors. Will there ever be a day when these spoof movies will ever come back again? let me know what you guys think hit the comments, put it in the box, hit the like button. thanks for taking the time to listen to me rant about this I want to know what you guys think about this as well.

until next time

Angry Birds DeThrones Captain America

Angry Birds was able to take the top spot from Captain America Civil War. Brad Brevett of Box Office Mojo reports that Civil War was able to cross the One Billion dollar mark this week with over $35 Million this weekend as Angry Birds pulls in $55 Million for the number one position.

So I was wrong, Apocalypse won't be the one to bring down the Captain but I won't be suprised if Captain America still isn't in second place next week. This week Angry Birds is number one, Captian America: Civil War at two, Neighbors 2 pulls in at third, The Nice Guys takes the fourth spot and The Jungle Book holds at number five.

Boss Battles

The Era of Comic Book Gods

                   THANOS                                APOCALYPSE                          DARKSEID

All I know is that when I sit down in my seat I will be ready The Watch each and every one of these movies more than once happily. If either one of these movies promise me 2 dish out a third ticket then my mind that would be the clear winner. I will be going for the adventure, the advancement of visual effects, and supporting comic books in general. Butt the one movie that pushes me to pay for that third or possibly more ticket to see this awesome story unfold will be the movie that execute the best boss battle. We've known and loved these Heroes for the past 15 years now it's time to join the Dark Side pun intended and see what these villains have to offer. Thanos vs. Darkseid vs. Apocalypse Datz how I'm looking this mashup. Heroes conspire but if we learned anything from the villain of The Fifth Element it's only when you destroy everything that the true excitement begins. May the best God win.

These villains are a threat on a completely different scale of reality. Some are god-like and others are true gods, in the end, the true winner will be the audience. We moviegoers are ready to experience something we have never seen before. With the coming Avengers, movies building larger teams from Iron Man to the Vision. With 20th Century Fox we have a rise of a new X-Men universe. Warner Brothers has Planet apocalypse soon to be inflamed as the Justice League assembles. A lot of fans will say "Well this just looks like a job for Superman". Alone? He cannot defeat one of these enemies. Even Apocalypse could probably defeat Superman. Don't believe me then let the debate begin Marvel Fanboys Bring It On LOL.

We are in the age of the god-like villain. Comic book movies are shifting now that we have defeated enemies on the local level, on to the state level, to the international level and have saved the world. The only direction now is to pull back or fight on a universal level. With the coming of Thanos and apocalypse for Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox slash and Marvel. Even Warner Brothers is laying the foundation for the coming of Darkseid.

Okay fanboys lets address the elephant god in the room. Thanos is a ripoff of Darkseid. Apocalypes is technically human so we are looking at this being a match up that favors Darseid. It seems that Thanos is in love with death and Darkseid is seeking the Anti-life equation. Darkseid is from a planet call Apocalypse and Apocalypse is so named. These guys are completely different and yet the same. Cheering one is cheering them all. S

ay hello to the bad guys.

Deadpool Movie Confirmed: Ryan Renolds? Kinda Sorta

Today will be a day that will have all comic book geeks going ape (bleep). Deadpool Lives! After the leaked footage of Deadpool was sent to the Youtubes Fox has officially set a date for a Deadpool movie coming to theaters in 2016.

I'm thinking that because of all the great support from fans that Fox may even go even further into cool mode by making the merc have a Rated R mouth. I mean its the only way it can go and work well. Even if you don't go hard R the sound of bleeps are so funny that it would work with Deadpool breaking the fourth wall, looking at the audience and complaining about censorship to the fans while the movie is playing.

There's so many questions. Will Hugh Jackman make another cameo? Will Deadpool call out the mistakes made to him on the Wolverine Origins movie? Will there be blood or bleeps? Its too much for me to handle right now. I think the character is awesome. I think Fox should stop playing around pretending that they're not going to back a dump truck of Benjamin to Reynolds to play the role, if for nothing, for just being 100% right about everything about this character.

Its time that we take comic book movie making to the next level and I see 20th Century Fox trying to pioneer the revolution. The only other concerns are how it officially effects upcoming Fox comic book adaptations that have yet to be born. What will this mean for an X-Force movie? Though we don't know the answers yet, I have a great feeling that this could be to Fox what Guardians of the Galaxy was for Marvel. With tons more ninja fights and limbs being lopped off of course.

Go Merc and everyone tweet Ryan a thank you message. I know I will.
