T3Medias: After Roseanne comes The Darlene Conner Show? Spinoff or Dried Out?

Roseanne Plus Twitter = Dissociation/Spinoff

We all know exactly what has happened by now after Roseanne Barr went on Twitter after taking a few pills. racism!

What does ABC do from this point? well, they have already cancelled the show with the fastest swiftness anyone has ever seen. everyone knows that ABC knew exactly what they were getting in bed with when taking on renewing Roseanne's show. The CEOs or the powers-that-be probably had one hand hovering above the cancel button while watching her Twitter feed 24/7. They were waiting for an excuse. I have said before that Roseanne missed out on a huge opportunity. A lot of her fans on both sides of the political aisle thought that she was writing a fine line between supporting people on the right and still acknowledging Lifestyles and the direction the world is turning to on the left. We may be a center-right society but we are always ever moving towards the left when it comes to the Future progress, and productivity.

Roseanne had a chance to really bring people together by acknowledging the struggles that we all share but she decided to throw it all away for an opportunity to be ugly towards someone who isn't even on her radar of being an enemy or a troll, or anyone of significance who has ever wronged her significantly. the sad thing is as the Creator / producer of the show she had the future of her cast members and crew who worked very hard on creating a quality and top-producing product in the palm of her hand and for her own personal entertainment she throws them all the way. What was Saturn, was the fact that she then decided to blame them for disassociating themselves, rightfully so, when the inevitable responses from her Twitter Rance caused so much destruction on these prominent careers. A lot of these actors John Goodman for example, will never truly be harmed by this. For him, just as an example, this is just a bump in the road. What about the children who were playing Darlene's kids for example? What about the actor playing young DJ? maybe they had plans before, during, and after this show would have naturally ended. for all they know they had great things coming their way using Roseanne show as a stepping stone that will never come to them now.

Guilty By Association

Roseanne, for her to attack her co-workers, saying they were not loyal proves she is more delusional then we give her credit for. It was said buy a critic that she has enough money to be racist. there are people in this world, in this country, who feel that because of a certain political election they are now free to rev up their inner demons and show to like more of the things they want to say that they would never have said in public before. I believe Americans should always be free to say whatever is on their mind. I also believe that you should prepare for responses. For every action there is an equal reaction. Roseanne Barr can't afford to be a little crazy, a little racist, and nothing really significant happen to her. Joe cool just wants to blame the 43rd president for all their problems does the exact same thing and loses their job, you're probably talking about children going hungry and homes being lost. That has always been the problem with celebrity worship. You're letting a celebrity, a millionaire, trick you into walking on their path and thinking that you can handle the bumps that come along the road. That millionaire can suffer a flat tire. But if you're driving a hooptie on its last leg and you hit that exact same bump you probably just blew up your entire vehicle lost your house, lost your marriage, and have become a villain in the eyes of many of your friends, family and general people in the community. You cannot afford to go through this. She can.

So where do we go from here? people have been saying that there can be a spinner. Focus the show on one of the children or Roseanne's sister Jackie. The only option that makes sense would be making a show based on Darlene. with her having children and being a single mother at this point of the show, having a daughter who is constantly angry and getting into trouble. Having a metrosexual son who may or may not be homosexual, having a younger brother with a biracial daughter whose mother is in the military active-duty. You got a lot of building blocks that reflects a lot of homes in America. At the same time you got a lot of core fans of the Roseanne show where this does not reflect them at all. You'll be Force feeding America to accept a spinoff of a show that is far away from the root of it's successful history.

I believe those characters barely worked, for me, on the Roseanne show. it would be watching cheers spinoff into the Frasier Crane show all over again. A complete disassociation from the original. the answer to Roseanne's racism should not be force her to watch America fall in love with a liberal based spin-off where she won't get any of the credit. you're just inviting more scrutiny than it's probably worth. But at the same time it's a shame that these people have to suffer a loss from someone else's actions. So what do we do?

I don't think a Darlene show works. I used to watch Will and Grace, I am a liberal, I am a Democrat, but the new Will and Grace is too much for me. I saw the first episode and never went back. but Darlene Conner is such an interesting character and seeing how she has grown up makes her all the more interesting. David being a absentee father does not have to return to the show. We all know why he really doesn't need to. I feel that eventually because of the fact that the actress who plays Darlene is homosexual eventually her character will become homosexual as well. This is not a bad thing but I feel like it would happen so fast that once again everyone who was a spinoff of trying to force the notion down everyone's throat in response to what Roseanne did on Twitter. For Better or For Worse, good or bad, it's exactly what people would think.

I could be wrong Darlings character could remarry and have a happy ending in one way or another with another man or with David and the character story within the way would probably always intended to in. But with everything happening right now I just predict a knee-jerk reaction and liberal fans would be targeting ABC to force a more liberal agenda and response to Roseanne. I'm not against Darlene coming out of the closet or marrying a man or whatever they decide to do. Just let the story be good. That’s all that matters. These actors, crew and fans deserve a happy ending to all this nonsense. I don’t care the politics involved. I don’t care who’s gay or straight, black or white, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, what have you. I care about a good story. Roseanne told some good stories. Don’t let a bad tweet be the end of it. Or just let it all fade away and we can pretend none of it ever happened.
