Here is my big revelation regarding Liam Neeson. He was one sentence away from being praised by a different group.Think about it. If Liam Neeson, while promoting his movie about revenge, said "I once had a female friend back in Ireland, who was raped and I was so angry I walked the streets of my city looking for the guy so I could beat him to death" Mr. Neeson would be cheered for standing up for women. But because the guy who assaulted his friend happened to be black, people are more concerned about him beating a black guy up more than just the fact that he went out looking to beat someone up at all. Just because he mentioned a race (which i admit, I would not have done) we're more focused on Liam attempting a hate crime, that never happened. and we are forgetting that he stopped himself and called it stupid and found shame in his own action 40 YEARS AGO no less. No matter how we tell the story, even people who are angry at Liam have always said, "well maybe he was just going out in anger for what a guy did to his friend" still are leaning towards the facts that it was a problem of THOUGHT that he self course corrected, thankfully before he did anything to anyone. White people, especially those with a history of prejudice/racism, who call it out and show growth and say, "that was bad and the old me" are given props and credit all the time. Now that we're in a Social Media "I wanna see the world burn environment", it's just become another form of entertainment to see if he can be punished for thinking. The only public relations mistake he made was mentioning a race. Mistake or not, it was still a fact. Yes, it could have been delivered better but are we forgetting something? if this really happened it means that its possible that a guy who rapes women in Ireland never was procecuted and probably did it again. Liam was one sentence away from being a champion for women and because of that sentence is being accused of racism. I don't know too many racists who would work with as many minorities as he has worked with. I for one won't co-sign on his punishment because of a thought that many of us have had and probably will have again if the same situation occurred. Are we really going to start invoking thought police? If actions speak louder than words then how the hell can a thought that never took action (so to speak) can be amplified to these extremes?
I want to thank you I just became a press pass contributor to Netflix they sent me this
high flying bird this quotation is played by Andre Holland now
releases February 8th
I guess you can bet there was probably a theater actual release for the purposes of Oscar opportunities. spoiler alert this was a very very very good movie. it had a Jerry Maguire kind of thing I was waiting for the show me the money moment. But it stars a really down-to-earth agent (André Holland) who cares about the culture of professional basketball and basketball in general. He was a forward thinking or sooth-seer playing chess thinking 20 moves down the road.
Every time he spoke I was always engaged
He is a character who commands the room.
I love the dynamic between him and his assistant (Zazie Olivia Beetz) who stated in their history that she always wanted to work with him from day one. I appreciate Netflix for letting me check this movie out . can't wait to get the next one it was great I had a great time with it. It reminded me of Jerry MaGuire but more of a very serious tone. it wasn't all over the place with a bunch of athletes. Only when it came to the documentary portion of the film where real athletes spoke about finances.
Lockdown, that's what you felt that from the very beginning. a lockdown was in the atmosphere and it was up the the main character to fix and get things going again.
I have to say that I enjoyed it a lot.
It shows the strength of a man especially a black man that knows the moves before it was made he can do anything. I don't know where this is going to go as far as next year's Oscars I don't I don't know about the buzz around it too much when it releases February 8th on Netflix.
This is a film adaptation passion project of James Cameron, directed by Robert Rodriguez. From the manga story Battle Angel Alita aka Gunnm by Yukito Kishiro comes Alita Battle Angel. I know little to nothing of the work that came from the 90's origins of this story but when I saw the trailers I was a little curious. When I had the opportunity to screen it I dove right in. Leaving my expectations at the door and allowing the film to do its job. I was not disappointed. I called it a Thrillride Brought To Life. I was most impressed with the lead actor, Rosa Salar. Through her performance I was instantly hooked into the story and became entranced by the character. When she was angry, I was angry, when she was sad, so was I. This is what made the movie so great.
Though, most of the people that will bash on the movie without seeing it will say that it is an insult to make a movie with a MANGA source without a majority asian cast. North American viewers have been known to support a film with actors they are familiar with, mostly from North America. Yes, testing a big budgeted film with a virtually unknown set of actors can work but in the business, you'll want to bet on a more familiar tie in. That being said, there were a lot of asian actors that could have played some of the lead members. I won't go into that. Like I said, I walked in as a clean slate and let the film do what it intended. Entertain.
There is a powerful cast, for the most part under utilized but the chemistry between them was definitely what made the system work. There was a lot of emotions and heart in this film. I found myself mouthing off to a lot of the antagonist who would dare harm our hero. She makes you root for her. Excitement and a story that will not let you down on the entertainment level.
If I had any problems with it, it was the lack of chemistry between Salazar and Keean Johnson. I also feel that Mahershala Ali and Jennifer Connellywere not used to their fullest abilities of acting quality. I wanted more of them on screen. This was not a shakespearean performance, nor did it need to be. It just captured the hearts and minds of the warriors spirit. I definitely recommend you to see for yourself. I wish for this to become a successful franchise. I want more from Salazar and the majority of this cast. The only thing that will guarantee a sequel and a proper conclusion to this epic story is the viewers uniting and seeing this film. I hope you do, if you love it, tell a friend and go see it again.

Some of the earlier viewers were allowed to ask the cast and producers of the film some questions.
With so many people with so much to say about 2036 Origin Unknown I wanted to answer a few questions and comments from viewers. I took the time to answer the comments and questions below. Go to my youtube channel for the answers.

I noticed anyone saying it was a terrible movie seemed to think it didn't make sense and was boring I on the other hand have a very high iq and understood the whole thing... lol jokes aside this movie is definitely for people who like to walk away with their brains running at a million mph, I thought it was very interesting but it took me like 20 minutes after to really think and decide what I thought everything meant so I will now try to explain it for people who are confused.

BTW for answers - Mac died and ARTE recreated her for the purpose of traveling to unknown origin to meet the alien species that sent the Cube. He not only re created her with android tech . He enhanced her using magnetic pulse Technology from the alien cube . It apparently took him a long time to re create her as he tells her this. He intimates that he took the best of "human " archetypes to re create her as well . He noticed that her and many others shared his quest for knowledge etc that many others of the species lacked and he clearly used this as a guide

The part where the oxygen was depleting from the room was dumb. You don't start choking and taking short breaths when you're running out of oxygen, you take deep ones.

Interesting that no review talks about these facts: she never over reacted when Arti blew up an unknown satellite, she didn't really react when Arti killed the man & the small giveaway when the man said, "you dropped the world" when giving her the ball back. Plus, they never left the building, so it was a Turing Test the while time. It was just kind of boring, if you're looking for a lot of dramatic action....

I love Katie Sackhoff. She is aging well but this movie was not good. I felt like the movie was originally twice as long, but half of it was left out. I could not really follow what was happening. It was trying to be 2001, but it just did not work out. When it was over, I was thinking, "WTF did I just watch?"

Had to find some other other opinions about this movie. I watched about 15 minutes and fell asleep. I then watched another 15 minutes and couldn’t take it anymore. Very dull movie. 😴

32 minutes in...didn’t know what was going on.......and didn’t care.

First Artie ruined the Stern show and then this?!

This was the dumbest & slowest skynet story ever made. The camera work was a kid’s kolidescope meets Interstellar and the plot was so sluggish

Seems like in the beginning , Artie was studying Mac. I always thought of aliens as being little green beings or more like the greys. Never thought of aliens as being machines. Reminds me of an old twilight zone move. Where survivors were told how to survive from "the old man in the cave," that ended up being a computer.

Anyone have a possible idea what lights they used in the robots eye? I know it’s mirrors but what lights?

This was a great movie. Usually the B sci fi flicks i get through my package are somewhat second rate. This one was deep, well acted and conveyed true feeling of the bleakness on Mars and alien landscapes in general...

Hey dude, I'm white (not female) and I use wash cloths! In fact, here they are sometimes called 'flannels'. Cool guy, anyway thanks for the nice review.
A short film written by Nelson Scott and directed by Meiko Tayler called By His Stripes. A tale of a young man's ability to face the mortality of his mother through his love and faith. The thing that I was first aware of just a few minutes into it was the connection between mother and son. I took a lot from this, it reminded me of the connection I have with my grandmother. The strength in faith in the church and the way the characters played by Denise Dowse and Nelson Scott was believable to the point where I could feel a familial bond. The direction of the story steers the viewer to deal with the realisation that we all must leave the world some day. How we choose to go can be up to us. Will you go kicking and screaming, in denial or with laughter and love? These are the things, when there are so few, within our control. This message of how we choose to heal was exceptional well crafted. This short film made me think of mercy and grace repeatedly until the very end.
There is a lot of talent in Scotts writing, singling, acting and energy. More than just belief, I know for a fact this will be a career to pay attention to.
Staring Denise Dowse, Nelson Scott and Robbie Danzie.

This is the pure definition of a teaser trailer. Nothing said, nothing really done, just a few poses. A sort of stage setting in place. Nothing really revealed that will give us anything about the story. This is just a credit to the costume design and make up team. From the looks of this trailer it seems like this is just a bunch of test shoots. Possibly for future wallpapers and posters. That being said, music can set the tone it's almost anything and leave you wondering. after watching the teaser trailer to the upcoming birds of prey movie I'm left feeling a 90s drama romance genre. Possibly even a crimes of passion thriller with just a hint of a crazy.
So far the images of the cast seem dark and fun. The potential of a potpourri of a emotional funbag with a beautiful tone is exactly what is needed to spice things up in the dceu. Still no word from the powers-that-be at Warner if there is a future for the Man of steel with Henry Cavill and Batman with Ben Affleck but what we do know is that DC is taking a few cues from marvel.
Before any one bites my head off what I mean is imitation is the ultimate form of flattery and in this situation very smart in any genre not just the comic book films. It's a good thing that the Man of steel movie has a different field than a shazam movie. That the suicide squad had a different feeling then the Wonder woman movie and Aquaman movie. When DC announced that all their movies would be dark and serious you might as well have made a recipe for future boredom and always the same.
Now they've learned that putting each one of their comic book films in the vein of a different genre be a rom-com or a murder mystery is the way we keep our audience excited. This is the way it's done in the comic book world so why not in the comic book movie. Just because marvel sort of figure that out first doesn't mean it should not be done in every cinematic universe.
I'm excited to see what's coming next and once the next trailer drops I will definitely give a reaction. If I'm sold on that reaction I will refrain from watching any more footage and go straight to the screening.
Right off the bat we have a secret organization bent on saving the world. That's what I like, a villain who sees themselves as the heroes. They have to believe they are the last chance at humanities salvation in order to keep paving the road to hell with good intentions. Now that Dr. Frankenstein has created the monster, it is time to see which monster will rise by the end of this season.
I sense a incoming passing of the torch to our true master of evil, Shauna, played by Brianne Howey. There is a draw to her character, a silent death that lingers in the room. We've already seen what she is capable of. To be on death row for the murder of your parents and tossed away like garbage only to be given supernatural powers has a larger impact on me than anything else. Dr. Tim was bitten by accident. He is the most vulnerable to the illness but so far is the most powerful in the room. Is his age a set back or the true reason that he will lead in a Dracula like state?
I think it will be Shauna who takes the throne from Tim and show us the true meaning of evil. The way she invades ones dream rivals even Freddy. Using sexuality is an obvious plot but it is affective no matter how much it is used. Even when you know what you're dealing with, you can't help but to be drawn in to her power.
All hail the future queen of the passage.
