Lights Out Movie Review

What's in the closet, what's under the bed. We've asked ourselves these questions before we really understood where they come from. This movie ironically sheds light on those feelings we have. The fear of the dark. When we hear a sound, that could just be the house settling, we turn it into the house settling to come to life and destroy us. From birth we create an alternative universe where the darkness is a living breathing creature that will someday claim our souls. Then comes this movie, which is quite a great piece of work. It did have a few jump scares that were in very effective places. You'll get tense you'll be drawn in the the darkness. The atmosphere of this film is like gravity that draws you into its deep dark secrets. The mystery behind the monster wasn't as original as it could have been but it pulls from the deepest secrets of the dark.

The acting from the little brother wasn't great, though you feel scared for him and want him to get away. His performance kept taking me out of the movie. He reminded me too much of the son from The Ring. Though I see potential, he's a much better actor that a lot of people out there. I just think this directed didn't get what he could have from this boy. The best performances were from Teresa Palmer and Maria Bello. I was also happy to see that the movie would open with the actress from the YouTube video that started this whole thing, Lota Losten, was brought in to set the tone of this film.

Over all I was very happy with the movie, I give it 3.5 out of 5. Check it out.

Would It Be Better For Sony To Have Rebooted The Real Ghostbusters Cartoon

I believe that Sony missed a better opportunity to reboot the correct franchise. I never watched the cartoon Ghostbusters Extreme but I saw enough to know that it would have been best to continue the movies with this concept. With the upcoming reboot of Ghostbusters a lot of fans are up in arms about the direction the movie is going. Most think an all female cast is to blame but with them being as funny as they are in their own right.

I see it more to the failure of the marketing. Having a mixed group of youngsters as you got from the cartoon was the best course of action.  I'm looking forward to the movie but I'm still keeping my expectations low.

I came across a picture of Egon Spangler from The Real Ghostbusters cartoon in the 80's and damn if I didn't notice a similarity of Kate McKinnon's character and Egon. Its almost identical. I think this is the direction Sony should have gone. If Sony were to reboot the cartoon and it failed then no harm to the original. You call it a reboot of the original film even thought its a total remake, it still cast a shadow if it fails.

The Shallows Movie Review

Morgan and Jasmine of Talking Through The Medias talks about their experience of The Shallows.

They speak of the main character going to a secret beach in Australia but its suppose to be Galveston. These girls being from Texas know that its definitely not what Galveston looks like. Jasmine says "it kept her on the edge of her seat, and gave her goose bumps." She's a fan of gory movies but Morgan was wondering why the main character could talk to animals and wore too much jewelry.

But they do recommend the  movie, it will have you covering your eyes a lot due to a lot of bloody scenes. You'll have fun getting bit by the shark.

The Nice Guys Movie Review

Hey there films fans. Today I'm going to talk to you about my favorite movie ever, at least for now. The nice guys starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. This is going to be pretty positive but hey, if you seen the film you probably know why it's really f****** good. Hit you with the plot line, one private dick played by Ryan Gosling. Two hired muscle played by Russell Crowe. Russell Crowe breaks Gosling's arm and then a weird partnership is formed for a porn star.

Its set in seventies LA and it's lots of fun. It's made by Shane Black so it's pretty much along the line of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. But I would say better, there's quite a few elements of Big Lebowski. As you may know I f****** love. God I'm all over the f-bombs today; you can tell I'm passionate. This is definitely my favorite Russell Crowe play. I think the last thing I saw him do was lame is so I'm glad he's not singing. He plays the silent strong guy really well. Ryan Gosling who is really showing that he's actually good at physical comedy which is not what you'd expect necessarily from him. He's romantic he's clumsy he's crazy. He does have most of the good lines. Just generally, on form it's a mismatched buddy comedy. It's just good performances by both. The whole film really involves around that central relationship. The surprising note as well is Ryan Gosling's daughter who is kind of like the penny from Inspector Gadget she's pretty savvy smart and sometimes and this type of film you expect a young girl to be a burden but probably being a damsel but she's owning this s***. She's getting into the center of it and being a strong female character. The plot is really good as well there's actually a who's done it and the narrative flows.

It's crazy in places and unusual characters along the way but I definitely feel I will watch it again to get more out of it there's definitely stuff I missed the first time around but the thing I didn't miss is that it's f****** spot-on like a unicorn! F-bomb number 3. But it is for unicorns so it's totally worth it.

you want some quotes? You want to hear some of the funny stuff that they're saying? Here we go. "Marriage is buying a house for someone you hate".
"You know who else was just following orders? Hitler!"
Boom!

I do enjoy it. I do enjoy the location. Just generally generally enjoyed it. I think it's potentially my new favorite family year. It was a good link, it sets up for a sequel and I kind of hope it does. So yes, go see it brilliant film I couldn't recommend it stronger. Modern cult classic. But what did you guys think did you like it as much as I did who is your favorite character, Ryan Gosling or Russell Crowe? It's official Zootopia is one of 26 movies in the world to cross the billion dollar box office mark. It's the second film this year and Disney now accounts for 11 out of 26.

This movie was fun for all ages. May be scary for some younger views. My five year old had to cover his eyes once. Be aware.

Overall great movie.

Harley Quinn Solo Film: Olivia Wilde As Ivy?

So the rumor is that Margot Robbie has embraced her character as Harley Quinn so much that she is pushing for a stand alone movie. But will the demented doctor be alone. I doubt it, Harley isn't a loan hero or villain her strengths are how she plays off of people and plays with people/victims. The best example would be Joker but seeing her graduate from Mr. J is very entertaining as well.
The character was invented as comic relief in the Animated Series but since has become a fan favorite. Now that she's Movie bound, with Robbie playing the face. Its predicted to be outstanding. I see a huge future here. But only if you surround Quinn with the right people. You'll need to introduce the best seller, Harley & Ivy to the table. Seeing these furocous women was always a deadly treat.

Could you imagine the carnage they could cause. My pick for Ivy is Olivia Wilde but that's a separate topic. I just want a good movie, if this is destined to happen. Don't just stop with just a Thelma and Luis rip. Go for the gusto. I want to introduce a inspired Barbra Gordon trying to imitate the Bat. I want Catwoman. I want it all.
 We deserve the best.
