Thanos

Learning more about this characters motivations made the film more incredible. It pulls you in. I believe this performance given by Brolin was on the same level of Andy Serkis. Oscar worthy in my opinion. Learning all about why Thanos was on his mission, though different from his main motivation in the comic books was still a concept that made sense for the MCU. I am also a believer that the scariest villains are the ones who believe their cause is just and a greater good. You hate to root for them but a little voice in the back of your mind.
My mother who has only seen a hand full of Marvel movies, saw Black Panther and is now protesting seeing any more because of her love for the Kill-monger character played by Michael B Jordan. Forget the fact that his name was Kill-monger and he was the bad guy her logic is "He didn't have to die". Doesn't matter that T'challa adopted a lot of his evil cousins good ideology. She wanted to just see Michael B Jordan. This proves that a great villain is the key ingredient of a great movie. If you can become immortally invested in the villain as much as the hero, if not more, then you'll really have so many mixed emotions when these characters have to have their final showdown.
No matter the outcome, the Avenger movies have evolved the cinematic universe to a level that can not be match. This is a once in a life time moment of filming that has given us a masterful payoff. The rumors of Kevin Feige may step down as head of Marvel Studios. I think since Captain America Winter Soldier, Civil War and now Infinity War that the Russo brothers are ready to take over as well they should if it came down to it. They've proven to be able to keep this train moving in so many new directions. They're now 3 for 3. Perfect execution of each of their films.
Avengers Infinity Wars is one of the greatest stories ever told on film from a villains perspective. Its not perfect, it won't win Oscars but it did something that isn't really done anymore. It took directions that you'd never expect in a comic book film but we've seen so many time in comic books. That's what makes this a true comic book movie. Once you see how it ends, true readers and collectors have seen endings like this and will appreciate the guts it takes in a world of heroes and villains. It begs the questions, who's really the hero in this story?
